SEO pie in the WordPress ecosystem seems to be getting bigger and bigger. The last week, RankMath Pro was selling SEO goodness, and this week we have SEOPress’s new plugin offering rank monitoring within WordPress dashboard. Plus other WordPress goodness like new plugin launches, important updates, and previewing the full site editing feature.

What’s Buzzing in WordPress 💖
  • SEO Eyeballs… it was RankMath Pro launch the last week and this week SEOPress has pulled a surprise with SEOPress Insights plugin for ranking and backlinks monitoring within WordPress. It is a separate product from SEOPress Pro, which makes sense as this would be mainly used by advanced SEO users.

  • Dev Focus… Eric Hamm has launched Simple Sandbox Pro plugin for full website snapshots (backups) & restores (video). Also, the popular ACF Extended now has a pro version in the mix.

  • New Updates… direct ThriveCart integration added to LearnDash LMS plugin for order bumps and upsell support. The free ClassifAI plugin added support for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) scanning of screenshots and images on WordPress websites.

  1. In the News… the new website of Biden and Harris has launched on WordPress and its usage is spreading in the US election ecosystem. The market share of WordPress will touch 40% soon, it has already reached 39% this week.

  2. Blocks Life… open beta for Genesis Block Theme is here that intends to leverage upcoming full site editing feature (video). Also, check this new plugin by Sridhar Katakam that enable the display of admin bar in full-screen editor mode.

  3. Core Updates… WordPress 5.6 Beta 4 is now available for testing. The final version release is on track for Dec 08, 2020 date. Also, would it be good for all WordPress users, if we don’t build theme-specific block plugins?
