Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Hi, here's issue #208 of Switch Weekly, your Nintendo update.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is here. I've linked up a few reviews below - the consensus seems to be: this is a great gift for BotW fans, with plenty of lore. Seen a few folks note minor technical issues, but overall, it's a solid Musou game.

Funny thing happened this week, I reached out to Panic Button for an update on Doom Eternal.... now, I didn't get a reply, but it's was amusing nontheless how a couple of days later Bethesda confirmed that the game is still on the way - although only as a digital release.

Just over 20 games hitting the Switch over the next seven days — no particularly heavy hitters, but more Picross from Jupiter is always a treat.

Cheers,
Chris ✌️

REVIEW Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity — Described here as a neat idea, with plenty of big battles, and a few unfortunate technical woes in places. Overall, it's something of an "uneven Zelda love letter" that's hugely entertaining, but performance issues scupper "the game's ludicrous highs". Hirun Cryer at GamesRader called it "an ace accomplice to Breath of the Wild". Neal Ronaghan at Nintendo World Report said this spinoff "successfully deepends the lore" of the BotW world and is a "soundly enjoyable" Musou game, but also noted technical issues.
