Forbes - 100,000 Hospitalizations, 2,804 Deaths

The U.S. hit two grim milestones last night. On Wednesday evening, America recorded an all-time high of daily Covid-19 deaths: 2,804 Americans died from the disease yesterday. In addition, hospitalizations from Covid-19 topped 100,000, straining already heavily burdened hospital systems. These frightening numbers have some experts thinking about more drastic solutions to curb the spread -- but less than half of Americans support measures such as a national shutdown. It seems that the onus is still on states to decide what they want to do to stop transmission. In California, where Covid-19 cases are surging, there are already plans for new regional stay-at-home orders based on ICU capacity.
