Forbes - The Generation Of Accountability

“You got the power to let power go?” - Kanye West, “Power”

On February 3, For(bes) The Culture will bring together leaders at the forefront of practicing cultural accountability. What does it mean to be culturally accountable in the workplace? For Black and Brown professionals, it means advocating for what you deserve, speaking up and affecting systemic change in the office and bringing your authentic self to work.

What does it mean to be culturally accountable in our community? It means, among other things, not shopping based on convenience. *Insert your favorite big box store here.* We must spend strategically—not just in February, not just in August, not just two days after Thanksgiving, but everyday. A small sacrifice today will yield stronger generations of Black and Brown Americans in the future.

How are you holding yourself culturally accountable?

P.S.: Before it closes, take our
2021 Black and Brown in Corporate survey to help inform how workplaces can create more inclusive and equitable environments in 2021 and beyond.
