In a proceeding like this, House impeachment managers act as the prosecution, making their case of Trump's culpability to the senators, who act like jurors. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., selected nine Democrats to serve as managers. In their brief, House managers argue Trump is "singularly responsible" for the violence that ensued at the Capitol after rallying his supporters.
    ...
On Tuesday, beginning at 1 p.m. ET., there will be up to four hours equally divided between the impeachment managers and the president's counsel to debate the constitutionality of the trial. If it passes, the trial will proceed with up to 16 hours per side to present their case beginning Wednesday. In an earlier vote on the constitutionality of the trial, only five Republicans broke with their GOP colleagues.
    ...
[Trump's lawyers] claim Trump didn't encourage violence and that his comments at the rally on Jan. 6 are protected by the First Amendment. Trump's team has denied that Trump can be tried as a former president, a claim disputed by many constitutional scholars.

Yes – Through precautionary measures (masks, social distancing) my 6th and 8th grade students have been fully attending (7:55am - 3:15pm) all year at their Catholic school. We must measure mental health risks of non-attendance with risks of getting Covid, and chances of being very ill if getting the virus.

No – 1. Kids are germ magnets. 2. We are treating teachers like baby sitters. 3. There are too many states where teachers aren't considered essential and do not have access to a vaccine.

Maybe – I don’t believe there is a “one size fits all” solution here. Older, crowded schools in areas of high outbreak are very different than newer schools in areas with relative low covid. It should be a community by community decision based on public health.
