Forbes - FDA Approves Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

On Saturday, the FDA granted an Emergency Use Authorization to Johnson & Johnson for the company’s single-shot Covid-19 vaccine, meaning it can now be given to the public. The vaccine, which uses a harmless viral vector, only requires one shot and can be stored at normal refrigerated temperatures. Johnson & Johnson says that it will have 20 million doses available by the end of March, and 100 million doses by the end of June. This is a huge win that could help turn the tide of the pandemic; 20% of U.S. adults are now vaccinated, and more will have the opportunity to get vaccines very soon. However, that doesn’t mean that we can reopen everything at once. CDC director Dr. Rochelle Wallensky has cautioned against relaxing restrictions too quickly.
