Why Is Anti-Semitism Still Cool?|This Unsung Black Entrepreneur Changed The Food Industry Forever

Last Monday, March 8 marked International Women’s Day, the global holiday created to amplify the call for gender parity while celebrating of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world.

While gender parity is something we should all get behind, following a year in which
women and girls around the globe were left behind with respect to education, healthcare, and jobs, more and more women voiced their concerns that IWD has become performative and has “morphed into something far more commercial.”

As a community dedicated to furthering diversity, equity, and inclusion, let’s hold business leaders accountable so that even as we celebrate events like IWD, we never lose focus on the need for gender parity year-round.

This week marked another major event, as Forbes launched the first-of-its-kind
State of Black Entrepreneurship Hub. Driven by For(bes) The Culture, this hub incorporates historical research that will unveil decades of forgotten and omitted Black business successes. The platform will also draw from quantitative data and original multimedia storytelling to illustrate how Black entrepreneurship stands across industries today and where it’s headed.

Check out the State of Black Entrepreneurship
CultureX: The Forgotten, a series spotlighting decades of buried Black business titans from history.

Initiatives like the
State of Black Entrepreneurship remind me that, even while there is always much work to be done, individuals, businesses, and communities like ours have the collective ability to move the needle and create lasting societal change, one initiative at a time.
