Out with sleep pods and kombucha on tap; in with Donut chats and bring-your-own-pup-to-Zoom days. A fall 2020 survey by Upwork shows that “among a sampling of 1,000 small business owners, HR managers, and CEOs, leaders expect nearly 27% of workers will remain fully remote through the end of 2021.” And for the unemployed, landing remote work (or any work at all) is even harder to find than Bucatini right now. 

In a recent CNBC article, Brie Reynolds, FlexJobs career development manager and coach, shared a few tips to securing remote work, including looking beyond remote-only positions. Even if a job description lists a specific location, there may be potential for a remote arrangement. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. 

You’re also going to want to avoid these common remote job hunting mistakes. Don’t scour LinkedIn for hours. (Take it from a gal who landed her job at the Brew via Twitter!) And when you’re in need of a résumé refresh, use Canva for cool templates. It’s better than anything I could do in Photoshop.

Investor Guy Spier writes that it has more to do with Buffett’s Inner Scorecard. “There’s nothing fake or forced about him,” he says. “He sees no reason to compromise his standards or violate his beliefs.” And without this internal moral compass, Spier argues, Buffett could’ve ended up like Bernie (Madoff, that is).

• If you’re yearning for a nostalgic treat or feeling burnout from cooking, I highly recommend Snow Days’s grain-free, organic pizza bites.
