Dear AD PRO Community,

Spring at last! It is finally warming up here in New York, and the longer, sunnier days and renewed energy on our city streets is giving all of us at AD a fresh dose of energy. We are longing to connect with our design world friends and AD PRO community, to get inspired, and to learn something new. So, I’m very excited to invite AD PRO members to join me and the team for the first-ever AD PRO Global Design Summit, a day-long virtual event on Thursday, April 22. We’ve got an A-list line-up of superstar designers participating in a roster of exciting back-to-back panels sponsored by Monogram Luxury Appliances, Tischler und Sohn, CB2, and Benjamin Moore. The morning’s highlights include AD’s Interiors & Garden Director Alison Levasseur chatting with designer Beata Heuman of London and interior architect David Flack of Australia—two stars of AD's May 2021 International issue—to survey the future of design around the world. Multi-hyphenate designers Justina Blakeney and Alexa Hampton will join AD Digital Director David Kaufman and AD Market Editor Maddie O’Malley to offer advice on navigating the realm of product licensing. Following that, architect Elizabeth Roberts shares her insights on sensitive renovations—from knowing what to change and what to keep, to sourcing the best floors, windows, doors, and more with AD Features Director Sam Cochran. At lunchtime, I’ll be hosting a conversation with two of today's most powerful design influencers, Jason Bolden and Adair Curtis of Los Angeles-based design firm JSN Studio.

The afternoon line-up will include a panel with designers Keia McSwain, Tavia Forbes and Monet Masters of FORBES MASTERS, and AD PRO Editor Katy Olson discussing how to take the world of interior design online. Then AD Design Editor Madeleine Luckel will talk about the latest kitchen trends with top designers and pros at Monogram, as well as the luxury appliance maker's newly released statement piece, the Monogram Professional Range. AD Deputy Digital Editor Allie Weiss and Sustainable Furnishings Council Founder Susan Inglis will make a presentation focused on the common—and not-so-common—questions designers have when endeavoring to shop more sustainably, with practical tips and insights you can seamlessly integrate in your practice. And Clever Editor Nora Taylor will sit down (virtually, of course) with designer Corey Damen Jenkins, and Andrea Magno, Director of Color Marketing and Development at Benjamin Moore, as they discuss how designers select, source, use, and recommend color today. (Plus, attendees at this session will be among the first to hear an exciting announcement from Benjamin Moore.)

The Summit wraps up with an intimate conversation between designer Nate Berkus—a rare master of both the business and the art of design—and AD’s West Coast Editor Mayer Rus. Nate will share the story of how he built his multipronged, multimedia design empire.
