AD PRO - It’s Showhouse Season!

Dear AD PRO Community,

As you all know, some of the most creative work in our industry is done in support of the many showhouses that raise money for worthy causes in cities around the U.S. each year. I’m happy to be able to report that even during this ongoing pandemic, our community is finding ways to come together for good causes and put on great shows. While they are a lot of work for all involved, everyone always feels doing a showhouse is a worthwhile investment and great experience.

So, earlier this week, I was thrilled to get a virtual preview tour of the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse in Palm Beach, which opened yesterday and runs through May 9. The organizers lined up a great list of diverse designers for this event, and I loved seeing Joy Moyler, who was named to the AD100 this year, and AD100 Hall of Famer Ellie Cullman as co-chairs.

Casa Gusto’s entry hall gets things off to a strong start, and every space that follows offers inspiration. Designer and HGTV star Mikel Welch’s living room celebrates neutrals and sumptuous textures. The bathroom by Forbes+Masters evokes a rainforest spa. Lisa Hynes and Heather Weisz of HW Interiors designed a glam laundry room that you actually want to hang out in and Nicole White created a stunning dressing area and bath that exude what she calls “modern luxury.” Indoors and out, there are dozens of ideas you’ll want to copy. Even the designers themselves have their eyes on things they covet. (Harry Heissmann plans to take the playful hand-painted mural in his hallway/bar area home home to his apartment after the show!)

How I wish I could be there in person to take it all in! I urge you to check it out for yourself.
