The Basic Dress Every Stylish Woman Owns For 2021 Looks So Expensive

As Earth month is coming to a close, I’ve been thinking a lot about the way I shop and take care of the clothing I already own. I’m more from the camp of “quality over quantity,” and consider myself pretty methodical about what I buy for the season, but when it comes to taking care of and salvaging the pieces I already own, I could definitely use some improvement.

While I donate most of the clothes from my bi-annual purge, writer Adedoyin Adeniji reports that even a well-thought intention could be hurting the planet. That’s why some brands and vintage stores are taking the initiative to share their knowledge with customers on how to better maintain the pieces that they already own, with explainers on what makes a certain fabric more durable than others, which affects the life of the garment.

Through small practices, like mending my cashmere sweaters to investing in essentials that never go out of style (like this one dress), I’m slowly making improvements on my journey to conscious consumption. How about you?
