AMC’s popcorn pop: What you need to know
Meme stock favorite AMC has been on fire this week. Yesterday the stock went up a staggering 95.22% to $62.55.
AMC, meanwhile, has announced a new communications program called AMC Investor Connect. If you sign up today, you get a free large popcorn when attending a movie this summer.
So AMC stock is skyrocketing because of free popcorn? Nah—probably not. AMC’s pop is more likely due to the meme stock investors over at the “Wall Street Bets” Reddit forum.
Investors on the forum have been pumping AMC all week. However, it’s unclear how long the rally will last. Shares have been up and down during pre-market trading on Thursday.
