Complaining about an app update is part of life in the 21st century. But never before has there been an app update as truly horrendous as Apple's changes to its podcasts app.

After finally downloading iOS 14.5 this week, Fast Company staffer Joe Berkowitz woke up to find his painstakingly curated podcast library in ruins, destroyed by an update that was theoretically supposed to make the app better. "Eliminating so much personal effort feels downright disrespectful," he writes. Read more about the horrid redesign of the Apple podcasts app here.

The world believes in the U.S. again, a new survey finds
Some foreign policy experts worried that trust in America abroad might not survive the Donald Trump years, but new survey results tell a far more hopeful story.
Pew Research asked respondents in 16 developed countries for their opinion of America under Joe Biden and found that 62% now have a favorable view of the U.S.—way up from the 34% favorable view earned by Trump in last year's survey.
In 12 of the countries, Pew had asked the same questions a year ago when Trump was president. The difference in the responses was sizable.
Seventy-five percent of respondents had confidence that Biden would "do the right thing regarding world affairs." Last year's survey found that only 17% thought Trump would do the right thing.
