This week, a quick edition of Silicon Valley Outsider: two pieces were launched in the last week that I think you all have to check out.

First is from Lea Boreland, a fellow Wolverine alum and a business generalist at Column. You might remember her from a very early edition of Silicon Valley Outsider, when we explored how the Midwest differs from the West.

📚 Lea just dropped an epic list of resources about tech and startup life: Lea’s Library.

You could do much worse than to just treat this as a summer reading list — but if you need a place to start, try Tim Ferriss’s interview with Balaji Srivivasan or Neuralink and the Brain’s Magical Future. If you like those, check out the rest of Lea’s list, and throw her a follow on Twitter.

The second piece is from a more well-known author, Paul Graham, a co-founder of the now-legendary Y Combinator accelerator. His blog is a must-follow for anyone interested in Silicon Valley.

🔨 PG shipped a blog post last week on How to Work Hard — fitting, given last week’s Outsider on doing hard things and not giving up.

Reading PG’s post made me realize that I committed a cardinal newsletter sin in last week’s post: I combined two topics into one! I really should have broken “Drive” into 1) choosing how to spend your time, and 2) how to not quit. I’ll make that breakout in my yet-to-be-released Startup Operation Skill Tree.
