Most of us go through some trial and error before we hit the sweet spot, whether that means finalizing the perfect L&D course or hitting on just the right amount of sugar for our summer lemonade recipe.

We want to be eating porridge that’s not too hot, not too cold, but just right. When it comes to work life or personal life, we want to be living our BEST life. That might mean we don’t want 100% online training, nor 100% in-person training—but the perfect hybrid model that gives us the best of both worlds. And that goes for onboarding, too.

And when it comes to work, we know that practice makes perfect. Just ask the L&D team at Zapier, who spent countless hours determining the perfect performance appraisal framework for the company. We're wondering if in-person training is over. Employees were barely hanging in there for lecture-style learning as it was. Then COVID hit, and everyone got used to working remotely, learning via webinar instead of seminar, and scrolling through eLearning modules instead of nodding off to PowerPoint projections. Now that offices are slowly opening up, we’re seriously wondering if L&D programs will go back to the way they were.
