2021 Class of National Student Poets 

The National Student Poets Program honors and amplifies the voices of young poets in grades ten and eleven. Each of the five student poets selected represent a different region, and serve in their roles for a year. Meet the Class of 2021 here and read about their work. 

2022 First Book Award Judge 

Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tyehimba Jess will judge the 2022 Academy of American Poets First Book Award, the nation’s most generous first-book prize for poetry. The winner will receive $5,000 and their manuscript will be published by Graywolf Press in 2023. Submissions will be accepted online between August 1 and October 1, 2021, and the recipient will be announced in April 2022 during National Poetry Month.

  • California State University, San Bernardino is seeking a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Linguistics to begin teaching August 15, 2022. 
     
  • Bookshop.org in Brooklyn, New York, is seeking a full-time Senior Marketing Manager to oversee marketing initiatives. To apply, send a resume and cover letter to nadine.vassallo@bookshop.org.
     
  • University of Chicago Press is seeking a full-time Editorial Assistant to help prepare book manuscripts for editing and typesetting.
