  Google admits its new tracking technology can be used to track users on an individual level. They had tried to call this "privacy by design." Nope.
• We Research Misinformation on Facebook. It Just Disabled Our Accounts. [nytimes.com]
  Facebook disabled privacy researchers ability to study how misinformation spreads on the platform. Fishy, huh? "The public deserves more transparency about the systems the company uses to sell the public’s attention to ads and algorithms it employs to promote content."
• Leaked Document Says Google Fired Dozens of Employees for Data Misuse [vice.com]
  "Google fired dozens of employees between 2018-2020 for abusing their access to the company's tools or data, with some workers potentially facing allegations of accessing Google user or employee data, according to an internal document." Joseph Cox reports.
