Flipping Ape

Just one month ago, we reported that domain investors, the Booth brothers, purchased Bored Ape #3749 for 400 ETH.
​
According to OpenSea records, they sold it for 740 ETH on Monday.
​
While the crypto exchange rates are bouncing up and down faster than Tigger, 740 ETH was worth approximately USD2.9M on September the 6th.
​
We figure that's about a $1.6 million profit after commission fees and ETH gas costs. It's a tidy flip in less than a month.
​

One more...
​You probably remember this handsome dude:

In yet another impressive flip, Bored Ape #7090 sold on the 2nd September for 600 ETH.
It was purchased on the 5th August for 199 ETH.

This NFT investor has a collection of 390 NFTs on OpenSea.

How Long To Sell Your Website?

​
Averages are the best of the worst and the worst of the best.

The 'average' time to sell your website varies widely and is dependent on factors such as your niche, your traffic, and your operations.
​
The question "how long will it take to sell my site" is a commonly asked one.
​
We had to dig around on the larger marketplaces to get any statistics on the average time to sell a website on their platforms.
​
The information ranged from the incredibly vague, to precise but ambiguous.
​
​Here's what we found:​
​

1. A non-answer: Your auction will initially run for 30 days. If the reserve price has not been met within 30 days, your listing will then be open to offers indefinitely.
   ​Flippa.
   ​
2. Better: "For example, we’ve sold $300K+ sites in less than a month and it has taken a few months to sell sites in the $50K - $100K range. We generally ask for at least 6 months to list and sell your site..."
   ​Empire Flippers.
   ​
3. Exact, but questions remain: "85% of businesses sell within 60 days."
   ​FE International.
   ​

What about the smaller marketplaces?

Motion Invest focusses on content sites valued at under $50,000, although they have recently completed several transactions over 6 figures.

Spencer Haws (co-founder of Motion Invest) took the time to analyze the data from their past 2 years in business and has revealed all the important statistics you want to know.

He's also perfectly clear on time frames to sell a website:​

​"Over the past 2 years, it takes 11.1 days on average for a site to sell on Motion Invest."​

8499 .com closed at $82,000 at GoDaddy auctions.

4N .coms are picking back up in price.
Back in June 0907 .com closed at $9,105. This is the sixth 4N .com to go for just 4 figures in 2021.
