Update on delayed child tax credit payments

On Friday, the IRS said those missing payments are (finally) on their way.

“We have resolved a technical issue, which we estimate caused fewer than 2% of CTC recipients not to receive their September payment. These individuals will receive their payments as early as Friday [Sep. 24] by direct deposit or in the coming days for those receiving checks by mail,” the IRS said in a statement to Forbes Advisor.

The bureau added that those impacted by the delay primarily included those who recently made an update to their bank account or address on the update portal.
