First - you're happy you move out of expensive cities (like SF or NY) because you can work from home
​
But... then you realize you're competing with everyone, anywhere for the job. All of a sudden, they don't need to pay you $200k a year when they can pay someone in Ukraine $80k for the same output

And then .. like naval says, everything becomes way more transactional, and they can fire you with no hesitation
