Flavio - 7 new tutorials from Flavio 😀
Hi Reader
This is Tuesday and as usual, here I am with the latest tutorials I wrote.
I'm enjoying a lot writing the new SwiftUI series on the blog:
- SwiftUI: the List view
- SwiftUI: the ForEach view
- SwiftUI forms
- SwiftUI forms: TextField
- SwiftUI forms: Toggle
- SwiftUI forms: Picker
- SwiftUI forms: Slider
I'm still thinking about some ideas for what's in the future.
I still have to write lots of theory and fundamentals posts on SwiftUI, but after that?
I'd like to start working on an app and documenting the process from start to publishing it on the App Store.
I still don't know which kind of app so.. it's still all very vague. I might change idea, too, as I often do lol, I like to plan but I also tend to go with the flow. Just thinking out loud. We'll see.
In other news, I'm super focused into creating the new course I'll organize in November: the JavaScript Masterclass!
I think about 80% of my days now are spent laser focused on that.
I can tell you what I'm working on right now. I've just ordered a new set of lights to make the videos perfect. I know the tools don't matter but.. new course, new toys. I also painted and reorganized the home studio so it's a blank canvas.
Like a fresh start after the summer.
Speaking of summer, last weekend I took a short trip to the Dolomites area, here in northern Italy. It's a 4 hours drive from where I live, because mountain roads are very slow, but well worth the drive.
Look at those mountains! I love being in nature from time to time. It's good to take a pause from typing at the computer.
But back to the course: it is not all based on videos, but there will be a lot of them. Mixed with text based lessons, exercises, quizzes, demos.
I want the course to be as interactive as possible, not just a passive learning experience.
I label it a non-linear learning experience, and I also built the whole platform myself from fresh, to enable the features I need.
I want to create the best way to learn JavaScript. Just the language this time. Let's focus on that for a while, shall we? It's too easy to be distracted by all the things built on top of it, but learning it deeply is essential for a productive 2022.
It will be a one-time 4 weeks long cohort-based course with a dedicated community and my mentoring.
The goal is to create a transformative event for you.
Becoming the person that everyone turns to, when they have core questions about JavaScript.
Or maybe just stopping that sense of insecurity when you get past the basic concepts, and things start to become quite hard. This, promises, the event loop, hoisting, closures, generators, and all that stuff.
I'm creating the resource you need to master them, and the accountability you need to actually learn them deeply.
The course will open signups in November, you can sign up to the waiting list now!
