Forbes - No Deal Flow today

Kevin Dowd
Staff Writer
Happy Monday, my dear readers. No normal newsletter today or tomorrow—I am taking a couple days away from the usual schedule to go do some learning with The Wharton School, which is hosting a seminar this week for journalists. When Deal Flow makes a triumphant return on Wednesday, I will hopefully have fresh new insights on how to think about cash flows.

If, now, you’re bummed out because you don’t have a newsletter to read for the next ten minutes—first of all, you're a beautiful person, and bless your heart. But also, fear not: I come bearing a recommendation.

It’s not about mergers or acquisitions or business in any real sense, but it’s one of my absolute favorite stories ever, and I think you’ll like it, too. It is a story about a stolen magic trick, and what it means to steal a magic trick, and it is also, I would argue, a bit of a magic trick itself—like all the best stories are.

Anyway,
here’s The Honor System, by Chris Jones. Be back on Wednesday.
