The most democra-tech awards system on the Internet – Hacker Noon’s Annual Noonies Awards – is about to embark on its official 2021 launch!

Our 'party' of international tech-savvy humans are teaming up with you – the brains of the internet – to find outstanding projects, content, and ideas from all corners of the interwebs.

It’s time to – once more – experience a tech awards 'ceremony' done right by celebrating the people behind the work.

This democra-tech appreciation of talent means we can acknowledge you: The Quirky Crypto Dance Party Thrower, and you: Mr. Rocket Engineer, and you: Ms. Algorithm Writer. We’re looking at all of you, and giving you the chance to win, hard.

Are the award titles boring? No way!

Part of the democratic approach is to come up with titles others could only dream of having. Titles like: Cheeky Genius of the Year and Rick Sanchez of the Year. As such, we are asking you to join in on the fun.
Hacker Noon is crowdsourcing for 50 award titles and descriptions generated by the community (you).

Since the awards are inspired by the community, you can let your creative license run wild. You can submit one suggestion, or 50, but please carry out your democratic responsibilities.

The award categories are the following:

  1. Decentralization
  2. Gaming
  3. Internet Heroes
  4. Planet Internet
  5. Software Development
  6. Technology
Here are some samples of this year’s award titles AND descriptions:

Cheeky Genius of the Year

This prestigious award is intended to celebrate the geniuses too laz-pardon me, intelligent, to deal with everyday life in a mediocre way. Have you, someone you know, or heard of, created an amazing life hack? This is the award for them.

Rick Sanchez of the Year

This prestigious award is intended to acknowledge the seemingly fine line between madness and brilliance. Sometimes having a perspective or drive that is outside the norm can be taunted and questioned. But surpassing these challenges and creating something useful, brilliant, awesome, or just genuinely hilarious is a winning way to be. Congratulations stranger, may you always be bold and quirky.
Have nominees for your award?

Yes, you can nominate yourself! Have someone else in mind? Nominate them for the award you came up with.

What are the steps?

Create a title for which the nominee would fit, or just a random and fun title, and let us know all of the info via this form.

Disclaimer: We welcome humour that is not in bad taste.

Deadline
The deadline for submitting titles is October 26, 2021.

Who are the judges?

The people of the internet.
