Do you know what I find confusing? Toyota. Yeah, the car company. I have a 2010 Prius, and other than an emergency trip to the car shop, it’s still going strong. And for the better part of the decade, Toyota absolutely ruled the Hybrid vehicle industry, thanks to better features, gas mileage, and more. It used to be that if you wanted a “car that’s better for the environment,” that meant you should get a Prius.

But then along came Tesla, an expensive electric vehicle. In its wake, nearly every other car manufacturer announced more affordable EVs with mileage that can easily match a Prius. But Toyota never entered the EV market and got left behind. That is, until now. Toyota just announced its first real EV, and the new car has a trick up its proverbial sleeve.

Other Highlights:

  • Are you planning to buy an iPhone as a gift for a loved one (or yourself!)? We gathered together all the best iPhones that’ll satisfy every presence. Even grandpa Joe that hates big smartphones.
  • Cam took a look at the Vena wallet case for the Pixel 5a and it’s pretty good. Mostly.
  • Man does Cricket wireless have good news for its customers.
  • …and more! Keep scrolling!

Toyota Announces Its First Real EV, and It Has a Solar Panel Roof

The Toyota Prius was years ahead of the competition when it first arrived, but the automaker has grown somewhat complacent in the EV space since then. Not anymore, as today the company unveiled what many will consider its first true, actual, all-electric vehicle. This is the Toyota bZ4X, and it’s packed with technology. Read More »

Oculus Quest Will Give the People What They Want … Eventually

Needless to say, the Facebook 2021 Connect keynote was both weird and outrageous. It was an hour-long hypnotizing act where Facebook tried to convince customers that it isn’t Facebook anymore—the company even changed its name to Meta! But tucked within all the nonsense came a few things to look forward to, especially if you’re an Oculus user. Read More »

Cricket Wireless Ditches Speed Caps and Brings 5G to All Phone Plans

Cricket Wireless suddenly looks like an excellent option for those who want 5G and no speed caps on their pre-paid smartphone plans. Today, the company announced it would enable 5G for all pre-paid plans, rather than only the most expensive option. More importantly, Cricket Wireless will no longer have speed limits on data usage, which is a big deal. Read More »

Steelseries’ Latest Gaming Headsets Add USB-C and Oculus Support

Steelseries is one of the best and brightest brands in gaming audio, but I’ve spent the last two years avoiding its popular Arctis headsets because … well, Micro USB is stupid and terrible. That said, I’m ready to give the new Arctis 7+ and 7P+ a shot, as they’re the first SteelSeries headsets equipped with USB-C ports and a ton of other much-needed features. Read More »
