On Friday, I’ll leave your inbox alone. Know someone who’d get a kick out this newsletter? This week's newsletter is sponsored by Thinkific. Create your own course, make passive income, and let 2022 be the year you earn more $$$$ than ever.Your Odd Idea Can Make You RichHappy week after Thanksgiving! You’re probably feeling lazy after a couple of days of doing whatever it was you were doing. If you were working, you’re a true hero. If you were off work, you are probably dreading your morning right now and scared of your inbox. Either way, thank you for opening this email. It’s not something that will scare you. If anything, let today’s topic slap you with inspiration that the ideas in your head are valuable and money-makers. Even if they seem oDdDdDdDdD. Ps. James Altucher preaches this 10 idea a day method that you might want to check out. It’s how I decided to start this newsletter and it’s an overall challenging and powerful thing to do. Odd Ideas That Made These People RichAs I was eating way too much apple pie this week, I decided to research cool people out there that said YES to odd ideas and made a ton of money off those ideas. So today’s post is a round-up of fabulous humans doing unique things that make them cash money. Let’s start with Beau Jessup. Special NameI stumbled upon this article on CNBC about a 19-year-old who created a website that helps provide Chinese parents with culturally appropriate English names for their babies. Since starting in 2015, Beau has done 677,900 (and counting) names and racked up estimated revenues of over $400,000. That’s…..wild! Here’s where you can read how she started the business and how she got the idea. Scuba Diving Pizza DeliveryAs someone who truly loves pizza, I was so obsessed when I heard about this guy’s job as a scuba diving pizza delivery person. There’s an underwater hotel in Florida - a great getaway for those brave enough to get there - and this guy figured hmmm the people staying there NEED PIZZA! And he was right. Social Media SlapperI saw this article on a guy who paid someone to slap him every time he went on social media. While that’s not everyone’s idea of the kind of “help” they need to tackle cutting back on the amount of hours they spend on TikTok, coming up with a business where you hire someone to help you kick your social addiction, in odd ways, could be a viral sensation. The SnuggieRemember a few years ago when these went viral? They made a comeback during the pandemic when people returned to spending quality time on the couch or lounging at home. Think about this: the inventor, Scott Boilen, took the idea of creating a blanket that people could wear. Sounds odd and lame? WELL IT MADE OVER $200 MILLION. Stop judging yourself and your ideas, friend. Potty Training ServicesThe best business ideas start off because a person is so frustrated by a problem in their life. One of those problems, some parents have, is potty training. So why not create a business that helps make that easier for parents? Someone did and they charge close to $2,000 for a 2/day training. Work with 50 people a year and make $100,000. Jen Glantz is a whimsical entrepreneur, 3x author, podcast host, and all-around pizza-obsessed goofball. Here's what she is currently working on: |
