Dear Reader—

Two weeks ago, I was lucky to gather with over 5,000 poets and readers for an evening of poems shared by the Academy of American Poets Board of Chancellors.

The occasion—Gather in Poems—was a moving opportunity, not only to share virtual space with so many of this art form’s most ardent supporters, but also to join together in celebration of poetry’s unique ability to connect us.

In honor of Giving Tuesday, and in gratitude for you as a member of our community, I would like to share that evening’s presentation with you once more.

Gather in Poems, November 18, 2021
I hope you’ll forward this video and share the poems that were read with your loved ones, and know, as Gwendolyn Brooks said best, “We are each other’s / magnitude and bond.”

With gratitude and warm wishes,

Jennifer Benka
Executive Director

P.S. We are grateful for the support of our readers, whose donations make our free programs and publications possible. As we enter the giving season, I hope you’ll consider including the Academy of American Poets in your end-of-year contributions.
