3-2-1: Interview at Stripe, roadmaps for developers and five books that changed one man's career

Hello my friends.

I'm back from vacation.

Here's what I picked this week. Enjoy :-)

πŸ’Ž Tech & Dev World

1. Accepted and ghosted: interviewing for a leadership position at Stripe

TL;DR: Interview experience for a leadership position at Stripe [not a good experience]

Why I enjoyed it: As always, best thing about HN is comments. Lots of gold nuggets about the game going on in $XB companies at C-levels.

Whether it's true or not, who knows. Part of it is definitely true. Everyone can learn their own lessons.

2. Developer Roadmaps

TL;DR: Roadmaps for any developer's development path.

Why I enjoyed it: Very detailed roadmaps with a lot of useful resources [also liked the UX]

3. Five Books that Changed My Career as a Software Engineer

TL;DR:

πŸ”₯ Web Development

1. The 2021 Web Almanac

TL;DR: The Web Almanac is a comprehensive report on the state of the web, backed by real data and trusted web experts.

Why I enjoyed it: A lot of interesting stats. For example, 36.2% of all JavaScript on 8.2 million websites is not used of the total amount of loaded JS. Thinking about opening a "web optimization agency" Business plan: 36,2% * 8.2M * $25 per optimization = $74M

2. Defensive CSS

TL;DR: A collection of snippets that can help you in writing CSS.

πŸ… Tweet of The Week

Most people want to have a passive income. Selling courses is a cliche. Birds are the future.
