πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„MERRY CHRISTMAS! πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Travel sucks (especially right now) in general, but it’s all the worse when you need to take an extended trip and can’t leave things behind. We all live and work on our laptops and desktops these days, and while a laptop is portable, desktops are decidedly not.

So when our resident VR expert Dave found himself needing to take an extended trip to the U.K., he realized his gaming PC MUST make the trip too. He needs it to write about virtual reality, after all. Now you COULD send your PC overseas using the post office or FedEx, but that’s expensive. Dave tried a different route—he took it apart and packed it in his bags on the plane. How did it go? Oh well, you need to read the top story to find out. (Spoiler alert: Not good)

Other Highlights:

  • Did you know the very first Christmas movie is 123 years old? And you can watch it!
  • If you own a Google OnHub wi-fi router you need to buy a new router right now.
  • These sneakers are out of this worldΒ and out of your budget.
  • It’s Christmas time! Let’s watch some Yule Log videos together.
  • …and more! Merry Christmas!

-Josh

I Tried to Beat The Postal Service, Now My PC Is Dead

Some things don’t mix. Desktop PCs and travel are two of them. Desktops tend to be large, heavy, and fragile—three traits that typically make transport difficult. But being me, I thought it could be done cheaply, put my plan into action, and now my PC is dead. Read More »

The Very First Christmas Movie Is 123 Years Old, Watch It Now

Have you ever seen Santa Claus? No, not The Santa Clause with Tim Allen; I’m talking about the first Christmas movie ever made! The Victorian-era Santa Claus hails from 1898, and to our surprise, it still feels (vaguely) modern thanks to its use of special effects and a familiar Christmas narrative. Read More »

If You Own a Google OnHub Router, It’s Time for an Upgrade

Google’s line of OnHub routers, which launched just a year before Google Wi-Fi, will turn seven years old in 2022. That’s an incredible lifespan for any connected device with fancy cloud-controlled smart features, but sadly, OnHub’s days are numbered. Come December 19th of 2022, OnHub routers will no longer work with the Google Home app. Read More »
