The inaugural issue of Marketing Junto was a huge success. The feedback has been great and extremely helpful. As always keep it coming. I want to hear your thoughts on where the newsletter is going. Just hit reply.

This week, I want to talk about planning for this year (2022). The parent company of this newsletter, Goldstein Media, is a digital marketing agency. We've been in business for 14+ years. This year we've decided it's time to work again on improving our processes.

For the past decade-plus we've  haven't veered too much from our original approach to how projects get done. And for most part there has been no issues. But it's those few times where projects go out of scope or clients disappear for extended periods, etc., that we need to account for and the processes need to be adjusted and updated.

Running a business there is a constant battle between efficiency and process. Setting up processes in your business isn't the quickest thing to do, but in the end, once in place, these processes help improve efficiency across the whole organization.

So that's what we're working on at Goldstein Media right now.

How are you planning and improving in 2022? How's it going so far?

Hit reply and let me know. I'd love to hear about it.

Onward!

Web Finds Of The Week

  • This is just one platform that is hedging its bets when it comes to a more hybrid approach to events. With Covid still out there, I see lots of events either staying all virtual or doing something hybrid. In my opinion, I think hybrid is great. It makes these events accessible to more people and gets the information conveyed during the event to a larger audience. More reach is never a bad thing. Neither is accessibility.
  • A good think-piece from the editor of MarTech.org. I can see why companies like Samsung want people to interact more with their TVs. But I don't see TVs as the true vehicle to interaction and engagement. I see more of a cross-platform play via QR codes and regular "Live Tweeting" of events and shows. Remember it's the device that's with you all the time you'll use the most. Most likely that's your phone or maybe your tablet.
  • It's a new year and it's time to clean up a number of different marketing channels. One of them is your email. Campaign Monitor has 4 tips that are sure to improve the deliverability of your marketing emails.
  • Rand Fishkin of Sparktoro has a new mental model. He explains it in detail in the article above. Rand, know for running Moz and now Sparktoro, is a master marketer. If you're not already following him on social media and reading his content you really need to.
  • A great post on what makes fantastic content marketing and what fails. There's some great gems in this post and some surprises.
  • Are you thinking about starting a newsletter? This article by SEOFOMO newsletter author and SEO wiz Aleyda Solis is full of helpful growth strategies she's used to grow her newsletter from 1k to 17k in just 2 years.
  • LinkedIn audio rooms might be a copycat move, but their rendition might actually be useful and catch on.
