Me - You can but Link Management tools do a lot of other things apart from just analytics. Link management tools help users to manage hundreds of links for better handling of link clicks, hot-linking by changing destination URL, retargeting ads for the users who clicked links.

• SaaS for Affiliate Links: Create a Micro-SaaS product around managing affiliate links. Managing affiliate links is one of the biggest problems for most bloggers and affiliate product sellers. They often do a lot of marketing and write a lot of content around the affiliate products to promote these. Having a product that helps track the clicks and affiliate sales would not only help to track the clicks and sales but also helps to see where the efforts can be doubled down. The tool should also pull out the successful sales data from these affiliate vendors and show it in the dashboard.

• Tracking Links: A simple link tracking tool that can generate new links for each destination link. Customers will use the newly generated link instead of the final destination link. This way it would be much easier to track the link clicks. Also, provide options to embed custom scripts on these newly generated URLs so that customers can run ad-hoc scripts before the destination/target links are redirected to. Make sure to support popular vendors like Adobe Spark pages, Roam research pages, Notion pages, Coda pages, Jotform, Substack, Trello, etc. There are various ways to do this but the best way to start is by leveraging Cloudflare workers or AWS Cloudfront/Lambda At Edge services.

• Link retargeting for Ads: Retargeting links is one of the common practices in the advertising industry. The concept is simple. Retargeting allows website owners to shows ads on the URLs that are clicked by users. For this mechanism to work, all Ad vendors need some pixel code to be added to the website pages.

  As mentioned by AdRoll, Retargeting enables you to remind your customers of your products and services after they leave your website without buying. It allows you to show your visitors relevant ads when they visit other sites. Retargeting works with apps and search as well as website banner ads. Serious marketers today use retargeting as a vital tool to connect with their customers and increase their sales. Retargeting works by utilizing “cookies”, a small piece of data stored by the Web browser that remembers users who visited your advertisement or webpage. Marketing teams can then utilize this cookie data to serve ads to the users again. By showing relevant, targeted ads to users that have shown an interest in your brand, you increase brand awareness and often total conversions.

  Almost all advertising companies like Facebook, Google Ads, Reddit Ads, Twitter Ads - all of these support retargeting of users.

Having data insights about the number of clicks, most clicked links, etc will provide additional power to the writers to see how well these can be utilized. To solve this, create a Micro-SaaS that provides a dashboard to create new links for each of the links the publishers want to use. For example, if a publisher wants to add https://newlink.acme.com/this-is-a-nice-product , the publisher will enter this into the dashboard to generate a new link for this and the newly generated link will be something like https://publisherdomain.com/acme-link-1 and this new link will be used inside the book. Provide options to do it at scale by letting customers add all their links in Google sheet and generate new links for each of these links. Alternatively, you can also let users upload the links using a CSV file too. The tool should also provide analytics around this data that shows the number of clicks etc too.
