Microsoft just rolled out DirectStorage, which PC games can use to dramatically boost load times on Windows 11 and Windows 10. All you need is an NVMe SSD and a game coded to take advantage of DirectStorage, so it will “just work” with modern hardware and software.

This feature first arrived on the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, and it’s now made its way to PCs.
