Nikita has a lot of real-world experience, having led stellar product teams at Trello and Dooly. She is currently SVP, Head of Product Management at The Knot Worldwide. Did you catch the game?
While most people talking about basketball today is probably more interested in the Saint Peter Peacocks and their big March Madness upset over the goliath Kentucky Wildcats yesterday. But there’s another basketball game that caught my attention this week – and it actually has nothing to do with the NCAA tournament.
Earlier this week, the Brooklyn Nets and the Dallas Mavericks took to the court. While some were excited to watch Kevin Durant and Luka Doncic work their respective basketball magic, I was more interested in the technology that was being featured for the first time in a full-length broadcast.
While demonstrated in clips throughout the season, for the first time – a full-length NBA basketball game was being broadcast in volumetric video. As The Verge reported, “Built with Canon’s Free-Viewpoint Video tech, it uses 110 data capturing cameras placed around the court to carefully track player movement. Then it combines that data in real-time with 3D models that have been built of each player, and renders it, very similar to how things would work while you’re playing NBA 2K.”
So yes, it almost appears as if you’re watching a video game. But the action is all real.
But why would they want to watch a game like this when they can… you know… watch the real gameplay out with real cameras? Well, with virtual cameras… it’s possible to watch the game or any replay from any angle, which makes it an interesting concept when you think of all of the possibilities.
You can catch a glimpse of what they’re dubbing “The Netaverse” here.
In a world where we’re increasingly seeing our real lives being replaced by virtual experiences, something like “The Netaverse” shouldn’t be so surprising. And if this is just the beginning… the 1.0 experience, so to speak… I can only imagine what the full experience will be like in the years to come.

A/b Testing In Product Management: Definition & Overview
Data is critical to the decision-making process of product managers (PMs). And there are so many ways to gather data—from qualitative feedback to usability studies.
One time-tested tool for gathering real-time user insights is A/B testing. A/B testing in product management allows PMs to test specific elements of the user experience, such as copy, user interface, or design. A/B tests are popular because they provide immediate and easy-to-analyze insights, and they reflect actual user interaction (instead of theoretical actions).
