Community Newsletter 2022 #2

Hackathons, Features, The Monthly Dev #15 and more!

It has been an action packed month for daily.dev and we can't wait to share what we have been up to with you in this 2nd community newsletter!

In fact we have had that much going on, this newsletter only contains the highlights!

We aren't even going to have chance to talk about hiring 3 new team members (with one more starting next week and us currently interviewing for 2 more people to join the team), or about our team's virtual escape room experience, or even our upcoming company gathering in Israel in a couple of weeks!

But don't worry, we still have loads to talk about and in this addition we will be covering:

  • our massive live event we hold every month, "The Monthly Dev"!
  • some new videos Francesco has made to explain how to use our features!
  • 4 recent changes and new features that we think will blow your socks off!
  • our first ever Hackathon and what a huge success it was! 🤯

Oh and the whole team just wants to say a massive thank you for all of your support, ideas, comments etc. We love every interaction we have with the community!

RSS Hackathon 2022

Our first ever Hackathon was a massive success!

With well over 100 people participating (115 actually!), we were blown away by the ideas and the 12 final entries!

After literal hours of deliberation, we had to pick a winner, which was hard as it ended up being really close between the top 3 places!

But we did manage to pick our top 3, who all get Amazon gift cards:

  1. 🥇 Pradumna Saraf for their entry daily.dev Really Simple Syndication (DDRSS) - $500 prize!
  2. 🥈 Amit Wani for their entry Bookmarks to Twitter - $250 prize!
  3. 🥉 Nazeem for their entry RSS Feed Telegram Bot - $100 prize!

Oh and there were 3 other entries that were so good we just had to give them some swag! A $55 coupon for the daily.dev swag store is on its way to:

Am I forgetting anything? Oh yeah, the first 100 participants who joined the Hackathon will receive a set of daily.dev stickers! 🤯

So a massive thank you to everyone who participated! You should go check out the Hackathon repository where there is even more information on the Hackathon and where we have listed every participant, so you can show them some love!
