Electric vehicles are becoming more common, and some manufacturers (like Ford and GM) are promising to phase out gas cars entirely, so it’s very likely that you may someday own an EV. And with that technology change, there’s always going to be lots of questions like how long you can expect your vehicle to last.

When it comes to the tires, brakes, windshield wipers, and so on, you already know the answers because nothing has changed. But what about the main component of an EV? The giant battery? How long can you expect that to last? Is it worse than a traditional engine? The same? Maybe even better? We’ll get into it in the top story.
