Amazon’s warehouse problem: In its quarterly earnings report Thursday, Amazon admitted that it built more warehouse space than it needed in response to the challenges of the pandemic, outpacing consumer sales. The overbuilding resulted in an extra $2 billion in costs, one of several factors that caused its results to fall well short of Wall Street’s expectations. Amazon shares are down more than 13% as of Friday morning.
