🚀 Weekly Top Stories

1. Space Primes – Boeing ($BA), General Dynamics ($GD) and Northrop Grumman ($NOC) – kicked off first quarter 2022 earnings this week.

Results and stock reactions were mixed for their space segments. Boeing reported -23.7% lower revenues of $5.4B, General Dynamics' revenue of $1.8B rose +0.8% YoY, and Northrop Grumman sales increased +13.2% to $2.8B.

2. Mynaric ($MYNA), AAC Clyde Space ($ACCMF) and Astra ($ASTR) released 2021 Annual Reports.

Mynaric revenue jumped +246.8% to €2.4M despite an operating loss of €42.4M. AAC revenue rose +89.2% to SEK 180M with EBITDA of SEK -14.9M, up from SEK -26.8M YoY.

3. Hawaiian Airlines ($HA) announced it will provide Starlink internet service to customers for free "as early as next year."

Details were not disclosed but this marks the first deal for SpaceX with a major airline.

4. Breeze Holdings ($BREZ) called a shareholder meeting to extend the timeline to complete the proposed SPAC transaction with D-Orbit.

The vote is will to take place on May 5th for an extension until September 26th.

5. AST SpaceMobile ($ASTS) announced an MOU with Globe Telecom ($GTMEF) to provide expanded coverage in the Philippines.

The company also announced a new CFO, effective May 10th.

Capella Raises $97 Series C (Company)
The round was led by NightDragon, with significant participation from existing investors DCVC and Cota Capital. The funding will expand the company's offerings amid major customer demand.

Adranos Raises $20M Series A (SpaceNews)
The round was led by Impala Asset Management with participation from Explorer1 Fund, Elevate Ventures and Specific Impulse Capital. Adranos manufactures solid rocket motor propulsion systems.

X-Bow Raises $27M Series A (PR Newswire)
Funding was co-led by Crosslink Capital and Razor's Edge Ventures, with participation from Lockheed Martin Ventures and Broom Ventures. The capital will accelerate customer support and invest in the company's product offerings.

Maxar Announces $202M of Government Contracts (Company)
$MAXR was awarded 27 U.S. Government mission support contracts worth up to $202M over a six-year period. Of the nine customers, eight are Department of Defense or Intelligence Community organizations.

HyPrSpace Raises €1.1M Seed (Company)
The French space launcher startup raised the capital from Geodesic Fund, on behalf of Bpifrance, and private investors. The funding will help strengthen its teams to accelerate the development of its OB-1 reusable launcher.

📊 Chart of the Week

April 2022 returns are in the books and only one stock finished the month in the green: Satellogic ($SATL). The average NewSpace stock was down -22.1% and Arqit ($ARQQ) was the big loser, down -48.5%.
