We are on our first court card in the series, the Page of Wands. The court cards, the Pages, Knights, Queens, and Kings of each of the Minor Arcana suits, represent people or aspects of your personality. However, they can also convey messages you need to know or aspects of life that affect you right now. The Page of Wands is a Minor Arcana tarot card representing new beginnings, inspiration, and young people with lots of energy, creativity, and enthusiasm. This card indicates that you are ready to take on new challenges and embark on new journeys. You are filled with energy and excitement, and your creative juices are flowing. Before getting into too much of this card, let's go over the history and appearance of the Page of Wands. The History And Appearance Of The Page of WandsThe Page of Wands is a tarot card that has been around for centuries. Its origins are unknown, but it is thought to date back to the 15th century. When you look at the Page of Wands from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, you see a young man holding a long stick. He is curious about the green leaves that are beginning to sprout, and the tunic has salamanders which represent changes and transformation. So you can see that he is standing very still and has the stick on the ground as it is not moving. That may mean he is inspired by what the stick and the sprouting leaves represent, but he is unwilling to do anything. When you look at the background, you see a mountainous and dry landscape which means the Page can find fertile land there. In other words, he can potentially find growth in places that are not likely to support it. He believes that anything can happen regardless of his circumstances shows how much enthusiasm he has. Now, let's go over what the Page of Wands may mean in a reading. What It Means When You Get The Page of Wands In A ReadingThe Page of Wands suggests that it is time to start something new, whether a project, a business venture, or a personal relationship. This is a time of endless possibilities, so go out there and seize them! The Page of Wands can also represent immaturity or recklessness. If you act impulsively without thinking things through, the Page of Wands warns you to slow down and be more mindful. This is not a time to act on impulse or take unnecessary risks. Instead, think things through before you make any decisions, as you may regret them later. If you are drawn to the Page of Wands, it may indicate that you are ready for change and new beginnings. Alternatively, this card may be a warning to slow down and be more cautious in your actions. The last thing you want to do is bite off more than you can chew! Instead, listen to your intuition and stay true to yourself. Whatever message the Page of Wands has for you, know that it is coming from a place of truth. It can also mean that there is someone in the picture in your life who has the Page of Wands personality. For example, it may literally represent an enthusiastic child or someone who has that personality, which may also be yours! Think about a creative child full of so many new unique ideas. The child explores their creative side and wants to think differently or think outside of the box. They have so many exciting ideas and present them energetically. This is the one that is highly fearless and has the characteristic of being extroverted. For example, if you ask a child what kind of birthday party they want, they will immediately tell you in an exciting way that they want their birthday party at Disney World and want to have Mickey and Minnie Mouse joining them at the party. They will imagine having a tall chocolate cake that goes up to the ceiling. Will any of this turn into reality? Maybe, and maybe not. That depends on the financial situation of the parents in addition to their responsibilities. Also, when you think of this card, you may think about those in careers involving activism, creative work, community projects, and working with children, particularly in the arts. So, how does this card apply to Risa Green's situation? The sad thing is that it doesn't, even if at one time it did when she was a child. The Page of Wands represents any child free of trauma as they can express their enthusiasm. However, you will assume that at one time, she did, and unfortunately, it did not last because her parents stomped it out of her. And those who experienced similar types of traumas growing up will relate to that so well. It takes a lot of work and processing to get to a healthier state when it comes to trauma, and you are not going to be ready to do that until you know it is the right time for that. And once you do begin to do the work, you will start experiencing more of a Page of Wands energy again, and it could take a while, depending on the severity of the trauma. And when it comes to mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety, that can also challenge that energy for obvious reasons. That is why it is essential to get the help and treatment for it, increasing the odds of experiencing more of a Page of Wands energy. But in every case, it doesn't necessarily happen. It depends on the degree of it and other factors playing into it. So let's now look at the Page of Wands reversed and what that means. Page of Wands ReversedThe Page of Wands reversed means lack of direction, self-limiting beliefs, or having different ideas. The reversed position can show the negative side of the upright card. That can include tantrums and too much distraction to the point that everything imagined would stay like that, imagination or fantasy. It can also mean a child lacks exciting and fun ideas or impatience. And if you have kids, you will deal with so much of that as it is! Some people are also dreamers who talk about fun ideas but never intend to act on them. The Page of Wands is not a card representing action, but if the idea never turns into anything and it is all just talk, and this idea has been talked about for a while, then the upright card reverses. So let's talk about how you can apply the Page of Wands to your life. How To Apply The Page of Wands To Your LifeThis is a great card to look at when trying to find some inspiration. The Page of Wands is not necessarily an excellent motivational card for doing physical work or anything like that. I personally like to use this card if I am already working on a project and not feeling too inspired to continue, and I use this card as a source to help me find some inspiration to add more creativity and work to a project. It is good for writing or art or looking for some inspiration to do any kind of creative work. That is my take on it. The next card I will go over will be the Knight of Wands.
