The Two of Swords is the card in the Minor Arcana that represents having to make a difficult decision and not being sure what path to take. It is essential to weigh the pros and cons when making the decision, and this is a decision you do not want to make because it is hard. You may be tempted to avoid it, but you know that you have to move forward. Sometimes, the Two of Swords can represent balance and indicate a situation where two people are evenly matched and must find a way to compromise. First, let's go over the history and appearance of the Two of Swords. The History And Appearance Of The Two SwordsThe Two of Swords is a tarot card that has been used for centuries to help people make decisions. The Two of Swords represents two sides of an issue or two possible outcomes. It can be seen as a symbol of balance, as it is often used to describe two opposing forces. The history of the Two of Swords is full of symbolism and meaning. The Two of Swords first appeared in Europe during the 14th century. The card was initially known as "The Peace Maker" and represented two different armies coming together to make peace. The cards later became known as "The Two Paths" and symbolized choosing between two different life paths. Finally, in the 18th century, the two Swords were given the name "The Two of Balance" and were used to symbolize two different sides coming together in equilibrium. When you look at the Two of Swords tarot card from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, you will see a woman wearing a blindfold. She is also wearing a white robe with two swords crossing each other. The blindfold represents her confusion, as she cannot see the problem or the solution. Therefore, she cannot access relevant information that can help her make a decision. However, those swords she is holding are in balance as she weighs her thoughts and looks at both sides of the predicament so she can come up with a solution. Let's now take a look and see what the Two of Swords means in a reading. What The Two of Swords Means In A ReadingIn a reading, this card can suggest several things. The Two of Swords can also be interpreted as a warning against making hasty decisions or acting impulsively. This is a time to think things through carefully before taking any action. If you are facing a difficult choice, this card suggests that you take the time to weigh your options before deciding and weighing the pros and cons. Trust your intuition, and don't be afraid to listen to your gut. The Two of Swords also reminds you that the best course of action is sometimes no action at all. In other words, know when to pick your battles. If you are having trouble seeing both sides of an argument or feel like you are stuck in a stalemate, the Two of Swords can offer some guidance. This card asks you to look at the situation from all angles and consider all possible outcomes. Only by truly understanding all aspects of a problem can we hope to find a resolution. With the help of the Two of Swords, you can learn to find peace through balance and make decisions with a clear and level head. So, when you look at two numerologically, that is the number of duality or partnership.
So therefore, that is why the Two of Swords represents being in a difficult position to make a hard decision. Let's go over the Ace of Swords representing that writer who wrote the manuscript because that was their eureka moment, writing that book. Now, there are several options on how to publish the book. First, they will wonder whether it is best to self-publish or go down the traditional way. And that is a big decision to make and not an easy one to make either, representing the Two of Swords in this. So that is all about weighing the pros and cons. How does the Two of Swords apply to Risa Green's life? You never know that she could be living through it all of the time. On the surface, she appears to be there for everyone and neglects her needs to avoid conflict and for her to win the approval of others. But what if she wants to start standing up for herself? What if she wants to go no contact with her abusive parents? What if she wants to have that difficult conversation with Ron about the state of their marriage? What if she wants to look into sending her son to a care facility? What if she wants to tell her neighbor off? For all we know, she could be wrestling with those thoughts. That is a Two of Swords situation if that is the case. But on the other hand, is it really? Maybe not, as perhaps she unconsciously chose to avoid conflict because of fear of rocking the boat and to keep being a people-pleaser because she desperately wants others to like her. That is very common for those who have C-PTSD, unfortunately. So now, let's go over the Two of Swords reversed. Two of Swords ReversedWhen this card shows up in reverse is indicative that you are literally stuck between a rock and a hard place. You are frozen as you feel you cannot decide at all. But, unfortunately, that is more accurate when it comes to Risa Green. She is frozen when it comes to choosing whether to begin to create boundaries, take care of herself, and keep doing what she is doing. Another example of Two fo Swords reversed is when you are overloaded with information or have reached a stalemate. If the other party involves in the decision-making refuses to compromise, and you refuse to compromise, you are butting heads. For example, if you and a friend want to go away somewhere for a weekend, but you want to go to place A, and they want to go to place B, and neither of you will compromise on another place, that is an example of that. Now, let's go over how you can use the Two of Swords in your life. How To Apply The Two of Swords To Your LifeThe time to apply this card to your life is only when you are in a position where you need to make a difficult decision. Of course, it is always hard to put emotions to the side when it comes to making hard decisions. But as you look at the card, you will know that you need to do that as you weigh the pros and cons of each choice to make. Of course, you will want to get the opinions of others to help you make the decision too. Eventually, you will decide what to do, but the Two of Swords is there to remind you not to put it off. Unfortunately, you have to make some very difficult and even heart-wrenching decisions in life. Therefore, the next card becomes more fitting with the Swords suit, the Three of Swords.
