Police didn't try to open doors to Uvalde classrooms with shooter inside: Source.

Sources told ABC News that investigators now believe the gunman could not have locked the doors to the classrooms from inside as officials first suspected. In the surveillance footage, sources said, it appears [the gunman] was able to open the door to classroom 111 from the outside.
    ...
[Days ago] Chief Pete Arredondo of the Uvalde School District Police claimed the delay in breaching the classrooms was because he was waiting for a janitor to get the key. But surveillance footage showed that neither Arredondo nor any other officers outside the classrooms ever attempted to open the door before receiving the keys. Whether the doors were unlocked through the entire episode remains under investigation.
    ...
Arredondo has denied [the charge that he is not cooperating with investigators]. The New York Times reported that a police officer responding to initial reports of a shooting had an opportunity to shoot the gunman but hesitated out of concern he could have hit a student. Sources have confirmed that to ABC News.

No - I have never missed an election since I turned 21. I've enjoyed the privilege of voting in 5 different states, in large cities and small rural townships. Every voting instance was well organized, professional and very thorough. 20 years ago we enjoyed automatic voter registration and voting by mail in Arizona! I have clerked and served as a poll observer. All of us active participants are well aware of the safety and sanctity of our elections.
