Electric Hydrogen, a one-year-old startup based in Natick, Ma., that claims to reduce industrial greenhouse gas emissions through a patented hydrolysis process, raised $198 million in Series B equity and debt. The deal lead was Fifth Wall, with additional capital supplied by S2G Ventures, Silicon Valley Bank, Trinity Capital, Amazon's Climate Pledge Fund, Cosan, Equinor Ventures, Honeywell, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and Rio Tinto. Gearset, a five-year-old startup based in Cambridge, UK, that builds tools for deploying and maintaining Salesforce software across an organization, raised a $55 million round. The deal lead was Silversmith Capital Partners. TechCrunch has more here.

Opn, a nine-year-old startup based in Tokyo that helps merchants set up payments on their mobile or desktop websites (it was formerly known as Omise), raised a $120 million Series C extension at a $1 billion valuation. The deal leads were JIC Venture Growth Investments and Mars Growth Capital. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group also extended $38 million in loans to Opn. The company has raised a total of $260.4 million. SumUp, a 10-year-old, London-based company that says it empowers business owners by enabling them to accept card payments in-store, in-app and online, in a simple, secure and cost-effective way (it has a card reader like Square), has raised €590 million in both equity and debt led by Bain Capital Tech Opportunities. Other backers in the round included BlackRock, btov Partners, Centerbridge, Crestline, Fin Capital, Sentinel Dome Partners and others. TechCrunch has more here.

BotsAndUs, a seven-year-old London startup that uses mobile robots to track pallets at every stage in their journey throughout a warehouse, raised a $13 million round led by Lakestar, with Maersk, Kindred Capital, and Capnamic also joining in. CloudQuery, a one-year-old startup based in Beaverton, Or., that has designed a platform to give its clients visibility into the resources they are using from big cloud vendors such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, raised a $15 million Series A round led by Tiger Global, with Boldstart, Haystack, Mango, and Work-Bench also pitching in. Cryptoys, a five-year-old, New York-based blockchain-based toy company that aims to expose younger users to the ideas of digital ownership and NFT mechanics, has raised $23 million in Series A funding led by earlier backer Andreessen Horowitz. Other backers in the round include Mattel, Dapper Labs, Draper & Associates, Acrew Capital, CoinFund, Animoca Brands and Sound Ventures. Epoch Biodesign, a three-year-old startup based in London that uses an enzymatic process to transform plastic waste into everyday chemicals, raised an $11 million seed round led by Lowercarbon Capital, with additional funds provided by BoxGroup, Amadeus Capital Partners, MCJ Collective, Zero Carbon Capital, Voyagers Climate-Tech Fund, and the Venture Collective. Eppo, a one-year-old San Francisco startup that aims to make easy-to-understand A/B testing tools, raised a $16 million Series A led by Menlo Ventures; previous investor Amplify Partners also contributed to the round. The company has raised a total of $19.5 million. TechCrunch has more here.

Evinced, a four-year-old Bay Area startup that develops assistive technology for enterprises in order to allow disabled people to effectively interact with websites and mobile applications, raised a $38 million Series B round led by Insight Partners, with M12, BGV, Capital One Ventures, and Engineering Capital also chipping in. Examedi, a one-year-old Santiago, Chile, startup that employs logistics typically used by food delivery apps to provide affordable at-home health services, raised a $17 million Series A. General Catalyst led the round. The company has raised a total of $19.9 million. LatamList has more here.

Jackpot, a six-year-old San Francisco startup that sells lottery tickets online, raised a $35 million Series A co-led by Accomplice and Courtside Ventures, with additional funds coming from Kraft Group, Michael Rubin, Haslam Sports Group, Elysian Park Ventures, Arctos Sports Partners, Sapphire Sport, Theo Epstein, Fenway Sports Group President Mike Gordon, DraftKings co-founder and CEO Jason Robins, and NBA stars James Harden and Joel Embiid. Jit, a nearly two-year-old, Tel Aviv startup that helps developers automate product security by codifying their security plans and workflows as code that can then be managed in a code repository like GitHub, has raised a $38.5 million seed funding. JobGet, a four-year-old startup based in Boston that has developed a jobs network for shift workers and employers, raised a $40 million Series B round plus $12 million in debt in a transaction co-led by JAZZ Venture Partners and Sanabil Investments, with additional participation from Pillar VC. Magnetic Insight, an eight-year-old startup based in Alameda, Ca., whose goal is to to offer clinicians a method to directly monitor cell therapy through magnetic particle Imaging technology, raised a $17 million Series B round led by Celesta Capital, with additional capital provided by Alumni Ventures Group, Gaingels, 5AM Ventures, and Sand Hill Angels. Mentimeter, an eight-year-old, Toronto-based audience engagement platform, has raised $42.8 million in Series C funding from three investors: Creades, Nordstjernan Growth, and Alfvén & Didrikson. More here.

Pocus, a San Francisco startup that aims to organize and present companies’ product data in a way that can help the companies identify new revenue opportunities with less time and no coding, raised a $23 million Series A led by Coatue, with First Round Capital, Box Group, GTM fund, and Mantis VC also chipping in. Broadcom’s $69 billion acquisition of cloud software company VMware is set for a lengthy antitrust investigation in Brussels over regulatory concerns that the deal will harm competition across the global technology industry, reports the Financial Times. More here.

Billionaire Larry Ellison has dropped $173 million of his fortune to buy that Florida compound in Manalapan, a wealthy town south of Palm Beach, from fellow billionaire Jim Clark of Netscape fame (who bought it for $94.2 million just last year). Billionaire Ken Griffin said today he is moving the global headquarters of his hedge-fund firm Citadel from Chicago to Miami. Griffin said in a letter to employees viewed by Forbes he had already personally moved to Miami. He apparently didn't mention crime rates as a reason for the relocation, but Forbes notes that he told the WSJ in April he was considering moving the company’s headquarters because of incidents involving Citadel employees in Chicago, including colleagues who were “mugged at gunpoint” and a colleague who was “stabbed on the way to work.”

Chelsea Handler is suing the venture-backed lingerie company ThirdLove for breach of contract, according to a lawsuit obtained by Page Six. The “Chelsea Lately” alum, 47, alleges in the newly filed complaint that the buzzy brand failed to “fairly compensate her for an advertising campaign it hired her to spearhead.”

Netflix has laid off another 300 employees as the streaming giant seeks to bring costs under control amid uneven subscriber growth. The job losses are across the company, with most affected workers based in the U.S. The cut is twice as large as the one the streaming giant made last month. Ro, a telemedicine outfit that last raised $150 million just months ago at a $7 billion valuation, has cut 18% of its staff to “manage expenses, increase the efficiency of our organization and better map our resources to our current strategy,” leadership wrote in an e-mail obtained by TechCrunch and confirmed by multiple sources. Tesla’s factories in Texas and Berlin are losing “billions of dollars right now” as supply chain disruptions hamper the electric vehicle giant’s ability to ramp up production, CEO Elon Musk said in an interview recorded on May 30 and published this week. “Both Berlin and Austin factories are gigantic money furnaces right now, ok?
