Luxury electric vehicle maker rolls into Seattle: At a time when gas is near $6 a gallon, perhaps a $154,000 non-gas car is the answer. Lucid, the Silicon Valley-based auto company, is opening a studio in University Village where potential buyers can check out a couple cars, use virtual reality to heighten the experience and test drive what’s billed as “the quickest, longest range, fastest charging electric car in the world.” GeekWire got a preview.

Tech companies take action after Roe v. Wade decision: Following the historic U.S. Supreme Court ruling overturning abortion rights, some companies are adding new benefits that cover expenses for employees who need to travel to another state to get reproductive care.

Esper lays off 12% of staff: The Seattle startup, which operates a DevOps platform for customers that manage fleets of company-owned Android devices, said the move was “based on the current economic climate and projections for future access to venture capital.” Read more.
