They recognize every point of interaction they have with their customers

From Ads in kids t.v shows to "all-day breakfast" on the radio for adults

They leverage each interaction point with a specific messaging to help reiterate their message and stay top of mind

2/ Mercedes, BMW, Audi

All 3 of these 'luxury' car brands provide you with the ‘illusion’ of luxury

They sell you a dream of higher status,

Then, help you buy an entry-level affordable version of their car

You broke the barrier and will upgrade in the future

Tripwire

All of them are focusing on segmenting and targeting the premium consumers who have:

1. High social and income status

2. Great desire for status

And they get you an affordable entry segway.

Once you get that taste of status, you won't want to leave their family aka upgrade

3/ Ferrari

You grew up playing with Hot Wheels

Your favorite movies as you grew up from toddler to child to teenager had speedy, sleek Ferraris all around

Since you were a kid it has been your grail car,

Most won’t be able to afford it but they will always respect it

This inflates its perceived value Inflated perceived value allows brands like Ferrari to boost the price of their cars just by the name

All because each of us since birth labeled it as a luxury brand

4/ PlayStation and Xbox

Mass adoption from kids

Creating us vs them mentality to build cult-like communities

They released exclusive games for their specific system to help you stay hooked

You went from playing solo campaigns to online with your friends

Every game you play has a new meta that comes out which means a new way you have to adapt

To adapt you have to play more

Once you finally adapt, a new console comes out, and we repeat

5/ Disney & Marvel

When you think of Disney, what do you feel?

Happy?

Magical?

Nostalgic?

Safe?

This wasn’t luck

It was a carefully sought-out strategy that has been conditioning you since you were a toddler
