Last week, a number of you took the time to answer the below two polls, which I really appreciate as the responses surprised me a bit.

I am traveling this week / partially on vacation, so before we return to the normal Friday email next week, I wanted to share some high-level takeaways from the polls and see if I could get you to answer two more! 🧡

Results - Poll #1

Almost exactly 50% of you are interested in receiving the longer-read articles again.

At the same time, almost exactly 50% of you would like to see more than one email a week, with a full 30% being disinterested in the longer-read articles.

... So, I will be honest, I wasn't expecting a 50 / 50 split there - but that is why doing polls like this (and you taking the time to respond - thank you!) is important.

But it gets better...

45% of you favor history-related articles and links, and 55% of you favor literature-related content... so, we are in a 50 / 50 situation again.

My Reactions

Based on these two polls, 1) it sounds like I am attracting a good audience that is generally interested in the topics I want to be writing about, but 2) adjusting things to be a perfect fit for everyone won't be possible. That's ok - it's almost never possible to do that.

So I am thinking about ways to make things better for all of you - and if you have time to respond to the polls below, that would help me out a great deal.
