Let’s talk about solar panels. Depending on where you live, at least three companies are probably knocking at your door, promising to make you energy independent. The premise seems simple, buy these expensive panels now, and they’ll save you so much money they’ll not only pay for themselves but put money in your pocket.

But solar panels are expensive, and while energy is getting more expensive, it’s still somewhat cheap, depending on where you live. So, if you did decide to purchase solar panels, how long would it take before they pay themselves off? We’ll figure that out in the top story.
