Hi, I'm back with another issue of Switch Weekly — your friendly Nintendo update.

There's over 20 games coming to the Switch next week, the highlight of which is undoubtedly Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

As for last week, Square Enix released Live A Live, and the reviews generally seem rather good. I love the HD-2D look they've developed here (starting with Octopath) and the game seems fairly experimental when stacked up against other JRPGs of the time. Reviews linked below.

🎮 Currently Playing: Into the Breach, Ring Fit Adventure, Fall Guys

REVIEW Live A Live — This 90s Squaresoft epic is getting its moment to shine once again with a global release and the HD-2D treatment. It's described here as a "timeless epic". However, Chris Karnadi writing for Polygon notes how its admirable in its ambition (telling all of human history in one narrative), but ultimately falls short as the "characters are too flimsy to hold the weight". Sure does look pretty though.

Only last week I booted up my Switch in 38 celsius (100F) heat, and yeah, it wasn't happy about it... This video digs in a little more.

Into the Breach, one of the Switch’s best strategy games, just got even better — This excellent 2018 hit just got a free new update with plenty to be excited about. This game is great — I've revisited this week and yup, still well worth checking out if you ain't before.

Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions — Tactical adventure game with puzzles and stealth sections.
GemaBoy Zero Origins — 2D arcade platformer.
⭐️ Arsonist Heaven — Crispy 2D action platformer with a pixel art style and budget price tag.
⭐️ Train Valley: Console Edition — Top-down rail building puzzle sim. Looks interesting enough if this sorta thing is your bag.
Jigoku Unko Toripuru — Basic beat 'em up 2D platformer.

Strange Horticulture — Occult puzzle game in which you play as the proprietor of a local plant store.
Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 — The latest in the speedy 2D action Gunvolt series.
Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony — Castlevania-inspired Touhou Project bullet hell game remastered for Switch.
Hot Sento Girls and Love — Some slapstick adventure about mishaps at a bathhouse....
Japanese Escape Games: The Hospital — Another escape room mystery, this time in a medical care setting.
Avenging Spirit — Early 90s arcade action game with a supernatural story.
Puzzletronics: Digital Infinite — Minimalist jigsaw puzzles.
Yuoni — A rather creepy Japanese action adventure game.
LootLite — Roguelike arcade game with plenty of treasure.
Lord Winklebottom Investigates — Point and click mystery. That name is pretty great.
Romeow: to the cracked Mars — A relaxing puzzle game about a kitten dreaming about space.

Madison — First-person psychologival horror. M for mature.
Superpanda 2 — Basic platformer.
Turrican Anthology Vol. I — Factor 5's 90s Amiga action platformers come to Switch — there's Vol. II also.
