Workspaces - 179 - Charles Patterson

Charles Patterson is a Product Designer, NFT artist, and gif maker
What a week!
On Monday we launched Workspaces on Product Hunt and ended up being the #1 product of the day! I sincerely appreciate all of your support in making that happen! If you haven't checked out the post yet, head on over and check out some of the comments.
We also announced the acquisition and released the redesigned Workspaces website! Hopefully that explains why last Sunday's email is now finding your inbox today... we were heads down making sure everything went smoothly with the transition to the new site.
If this is your first time seeing the new website, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Simply reply to this email or DM me on Twitter.
Thank you!

What is your favorite item in your workspace?
Favourite item on the workspace is this super simple headphone stand. It’s just so damn sleek! Who knew that something that does something as simple as hold your headphones would bring so much joy.
How do you spark creativity?
I spark creativity by keeping myself as active as possible doing things that aren’t directly associated with my day to day job. I play video games. I go for walks. I play guitar. I DJ to a crowed of one (me). I cook delicious food. I make sure I get enough sleep. Also working on a new generative illustration project which has taken me completely out of my comfort zone and I am loving it! Give us a follow on Twitter @GoodMonkeyz
How do you keep the work-life balance?
This is my personal setup. My work setup is on my laptop on a completely separate desk. I’m lucky to be able to have the space to have both! But the point I’m trying to make here is that I've created physical boundaries. The physical boundaries help create the mental boundaries around where work begins and ends. When I get up from my desk (which is specifically just for working) I make sure I am not longer working until I sit back down at the desk. No looking at Slack on my phone. No answering emails. That only happens when I get back to my desk. Keeping those separations really helps leave work at work. Close your laptop and go outside!
