Google’s gigabit internet service is coming back from a long coma. And while it hasn’t expanded to a new city for five years, other internet service providers have taken up the cause and introduced gigabit speeds all over the country.

Gigabit internet is seriously ridiculously “ludicrous speed” fast. That’s right, sign up for it, and you’ll go to plaid (definitely hinting at my age with this dated reference). But do you actually need gigabit speed? Like, ever? We’ll dig into it in the top story.
