Engineers from Stanford have developed a chip that does AI processing within its memory, eliminating the separation between compute and memory units. The resistive random-access memory (RRAM) chip is about the size of a fingertip and can do more work with limited battery power than current chips. It has demonstrated efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to do different tasks in lab tests. Further development of the chip could result in smart electronics that can be placed almost anywhere.

This Restaurant Is Run Entirely By Robots (4 minute read)

Mezli is a fully robot-run restaurant founded by a trio of Stanford graduate students. It is the first automated restaurant in San Francisco without any humans on-site. The food is prepped and pre-cooked off-site by a team of two people. It is then loaded into a box with an oven that can pump out about 75 meals an hour. Mezli offers a menu of Mediterranean-inspired bowls, with the cheapest bowl starting at $6.99.
