GrowthHackingIdea - Study: 10x more opt-ins (easy to apply)
DigitalOcean is a hosting provider. They had a problem - an opt-in rate for their free trial popup offer was only 0.21%.
Then they used a new approach that 10x’d their opt-in rate.
The only main thing they changed is positioning.
They positioned their free trial as a present devoted to their (DigitalOcean's) birthday (that can be in fact every day).
Their popup now says:
Wait!
It's our birthday
but you get the present
1 month free cloud hosting
Coupon code: HBD2CW
Enter your email here [Sign Up]
They also tried to devote their "presents" to other holidays like Independence Day, Halloween and Christmas.
And every time these popups delivered 10x-15x higher opt-in rates. That's eventually 10-15 times more leads and more revenue!
