FSD Beta

FSD Beta  10.69.1.1 release notes 📷
Tesla keeps iterating on their version 10.69 and they just dropped 10.69.1.1 a few days ago. At this time, I'm still waitting to get 10.69.X, but many folks on Twitter area really happy with the improvements.

Lane selection issues are gone in 10.69.1.1 ðŸ“¹
Great to see improvements in this area, I've suffered the same issues as well.

Software Updates

Tesla update 2022.28 adds ability to minimize Tesla Theater 📹
In the latests software update, you can now minimize the Tesla Theater in case you need to look at some other stuff at the same time, whithout having to fully close it.

Energy

Virtual Power Plant in action 📷
With the heatwaves all over the US, we are seeing more of these virtual power plant events, in this one, the owner is being paid $28 an hour to discharge the Powerwalls to the grid for three hours. For those who aren't familiar, the virtual power plant is a feature recelently released by Tesla where your utility can pay you for your stored energy so they don't have to use the most expensive and poluting generators.

Powerwall by itself should be possible end of year
Currently, you can't order a Powerwall directly from Tesla unless you ordered solar panels or the solar roof as well. According to Elon, the production of Powerwalls could pick up by the end of the year and change it. Note: If you already have solar and are in the marker for Powerwalls, check your local distributors, they often install them without the need of installing panels as well.

New models and adoption

Three Tesla Semi pre-production spotted 📹
I can't wait to see these on the roads!

EV Adoption in the US is happening faster than predicted
Tesla's mission statement is  to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy and they are clearly achieving that. As the article shows, every projection has increased their estimates over the years, with an increase from 21% to 53% by 2030.

Service

Tesla charging $100 ‘Reschedule Fee’ for last minute service appointment changes 📷
In this screenshot from @BLKMDL3, Tesla is saying that they are going to charge him $100 for rescheduling the service appointment within 24 hours of the appointment. In principle, I don't think I disagree with the policy, but at the same time, sh*t happens, so maybe some system where you get charged if you reschedule more than X times would be better and punish those abusing the system.

🤓 What the acronym

As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • EV -  Electric Vehicle
  • FSD -  Full Self-Driving
